The Ganye Chiefdom in Adamawa State is abuzz with celebration as it marks the Silver Jubilee of His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Umaru Adamu Sanda OON, Gangwari Ganye II, commemorating 25 years of transformative and compassionate leadership.

In a heartfelt tribute, TG News, led by Publisher Mr. Tom Garba, hailed the monarch as an “embodiment of fairness, compassion, dedication, and love,” celebrating his enduring impact on the chiefdom and beyond.
The Silver Jubilee festivities kicked off with a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Conference Hall in Yola, attended by community leaders, dignitaries, and media representatives.

Mr. Garba, speaking on behalf of TG News, praised HRH Sanda’s exemplary tenure, noting that his leadership has been a beacon of inspiration.

Since ascending the throne on April 17, 2000, HRH Alh. (Dr.) Umaru Adamu Sanda has guided the Ganye Chiefdom—encompassing Ganye, Jada, and Toungo Local Government Areas—with wisdom and inclusivity.

Under his reign, Ganye Chiefdom has flourished as Adamawa’s “food basket,” producing crops like maize, sorghum, yam, and cocoa in commercial quantities, thanks to its fertile soil.
Sanda’s leadership has also attracted investment in the chiefdom’s rich mineral resources, including beryl, gypsum, and gold. His efforts to mediate herder-farmer conflicts have fostered peace, while infrastructure projects, such as the electrification of Toungo, have improved living standards.
The Silver Jubilee festivities feature cultural displays, traditional dances, and interfaith prayers at the Ganye Central Mosque, showcasing the chiefdom’s diversity and unity among its Chamba, Fulani, Hausa, and other ethnic groups. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, a key supporter, commended Sanda’s role in promoting peace and development, while community members celebrated attractions like the Gashaka/Gumti National Park, a tourism gem.
