In a transformative step toward amplifying the voices of adolescent girls, the Rhamo Multimedia Resources Centre, in partnership with the Adamawa State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, hosted a dynamic Media Training on Content Creation for the AGILE-AF Project (Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment) on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The event, held at the Rhamo Multimedia Resources Centre in Yola, convened 20 journalists and media professionals from Adamawa’s electronic and print media, equipping them with cutting-edge tools, storytelling strategies, and ethical frameworks to craft compelling multimedia content that champions girls’ education and empowerment.
Ruth Stanley, representing AGILE-AF’s leadership, opened the session with a powerful overview of the project, emphasizing the media’s pivotal role in shaping public support for adolescent girls, stating, “The stories you tell can change perceptions and inspire action.”

Billy Graham, Centre Director at Rhamo, led a hands-on session titled “Strategies and Tools for Creating Effective AGILE-AF Content,” focusing on emotionally resonant storytelling through text, visuals, sound, and motion, while Dr. John Ngamsa facilitated an interactive discussion where participants tackled challenges and proposed collaborative media strategies.
Journalists pledged to produce high-impact stories showcasing AGILE-AF’s mission and successes, with the training stressing dignity, consent, and sensitivity in reporting on adolescent girls.
Participants proposed a media forum to foster sustained engagement and capacity building, and stakeholders called for better access to data, field visits, and success stories to support content creation.
In a unified commitment, participants vowed to “leverage multimedia storytelling to advocate for the rights, education, and empowerment of adolescent girls across Adamawa and beyond.”
The three-hour session, held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, marked a milestone in bridging media and development efforts, setting the stage for powerful narratives that uplift Nigeria’s adolescent girls.
