The Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Sunday hailed the youths of the state, for maintaining law and order during the recent ‘EndSARS’ protest across the country.
Buni made the commendation at a stakeholders meeting on peace on Sunday in Damaturu.
”Let me specially appreciate our youth for their sense of reasoning and resilience, to the challenges of the EndSARS protests. You have individually and collectively done us proud.
”I also salute you for your ingenuity in organising prayer sessions, where you prayed for an end to the protests and for peace to reign in Nigeria. You have proven to be different and unique,” he stated.
The governor also said his administration would reciprocate the gesture through robust investments in the future of the youths, to have a prosperous life and to be role models to other youth in the country.
He equally appreciated traditional and religious leaders, elder statesmen, parents and guardians, for always preaching peace and peaceful coexistence in the communities.
Mala Buni added that his administration would continue to build tolerance, dialogue and strategic engagements to resolve all differences to promote peace and unity in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, Minister of State for Works and Housing, commended President Muhammandu Buhari for having listened to the demands of the “End SARS” Movement.
”In addition, the Federal Government has put in place some proactive measures and strategies to address the other demands put forward by the protesters,” he said.
