England Edge Mexico in World Cup Thriller to Reach Quarter-Finals as Norway Stun Brazil

England booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup after a dramatic 3-2 victory over hosts Mexico in a storm-affected Round of 16 encounter at the iconic Azteca Stadium, while Norway pulled off one of the tournament’s biggest upsets by defeating Brazil 2-1.

The highly anticipated clash between England and Mexico was delayed for an hour due to severe weather conditions, but the interruption did little to slow down Thomas Tuchel’s side, who delivered arguably their strongest performance of the tournament so far.

When the final whistle sounded, England celebrated a hard-fought victory that ended Mexico’s dream of lifting the World Cup on home soil and secured a place in the last eight.

England will now face Norway in a quarter-final showdown after the Scandinavian side shocked football fans around the world by defeating five-time world champions Brazil 2-1. Norway’s victory ranks among the biggest surprises of the tournament and sets up a fascinating battle with an England side growing in confidence at the perfect time.

With Bellingham in sparkling form, Kane leading from the front, and Pickford proving decisive under pressure, England will head into the quarter-finals believing they have a genuine opportunity to challenge for World Cup glory.
