Environment Minister Condoles with Borno Governor, Pledges Support for Recovery Efforts

The Honourable Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has expressed his condolences to Borno State Governor, Prof. Umaru Zulum, over the recent flood disaster that devastated the state. During his visit to Borno, the Minister pledged support for the state government’s recovery efforts.

The Minister was warmly received by Governor Zulum and expressed deep sympathy for the affected communities. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Borno State’s recovery and mitigation efforts.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to mobilizing necessary resources and technical support to assist Borno State in addressing environmental challenges posed by the flood

Accompanying the Minister were key officials from the Ministry, including the Permanent Secretary, Directors, and National Project Coordinators. The team assessed the extent of the damage and explored sustainable solutions to enhance flood resilience, erosion control, and environmental protection.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to mobilizing necessary resources and technical support to assist Borno State in addressing environmental challenges posed by the flood. The team discussed immediate interventions and long-term strategies to safeguard communities and restore affected areas.
