Ethnic Clash in Lamurde: APC Adamawa State Chapter Condemns Violence, Calls for Peace, Unity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa State Chapter, under the leadership of Barr. Idris Shuaibu, has issued a vehement condemnation of the recent ethnic clash in Lamurde Local Government, which has left a trail of devastation in its wake.

The violent conflict, triggered by a dispute over farmland, has claimed numerous innocent lives, destroyed homes and personal belongings, and inflicted severe economic consequences on the affected communities.

In a detailed statement released today, signed by Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, the State Publicity Secretary, the APC described the incident as “unfortunate” and “avoidable,” expressing deep dismay at the scale of the tragedy.

The clash, rooted in a disagreement over agricultural land, escalated into a deadly confrontation, disrupting the longstanding harmony among ethnic groups in the area.

The destruction of property and loss of lives have plunged the community into grief, with ripple effects threatening the socio-economic fabric of Lamurde.

“The APC Adamawa State Chapter strongly condemns this ugly incident, which has caused untold suffering to the people of Lamurde,” the statement read. “The loss of lives and destruction of homes and livelihoods is a painful reminder of the need for peaceful coexistence and dialogue in resolving disputes.”

“We call on all concerned to tow the line of peace and avoid actions that could lead to further misunderstandings,” the statement added.
