Barr. James Bala Nggilari, former Governor of Adamawa State, has penned a heartfelt letter congratulating His Excellency, Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on his recent conferment with an Honorary Doctorate degree by the Lagos State University (LASU)


Nggilari described the honor as a fitting recognition of Marwa’s relentless efforts in combating drug trafficking and abuse across Nigeria.
In his letter, Nggilari praised Marwa’s transformative leadership, which he said has repositioned the NDLEA as a formidable force in the fight against narcotics.

Highlighting Marwa’s remarkable achievements, Nggilari noted that under his stewardship, the agency has arrested over 52,901 drug trafficking offenders and seized 7.6 million kilograms of illicit drugs valued at an staggering N958 billion.
“Your vision and dedication have not only disrupted the operations of drug cartels but have also restored hope to communities ravaged by the menace of drug abuse,” Nggilari wrote.
The former governor also commended Marwa’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, which has reached over 6,423 locations nationwide, raising awareness and educating millions on the dangers of substance abuse.
“This advocacy has touched countless lives, offering a beacon of hope for a drug-free Nigeria,” he added.

Nggilari expressed his prayers for divine guidance and protection for Marwa as he continues his mission to safeguard Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage. “Your commitment to public service is a shining example for all, and this honorary doctorate is a testament to your extraordinary contributions,” he stated.
Closing his letter, Nggilari extended his warmest felicitations, describing the recognition as well-deserved and an inspiration to others in public service.
