Ex-Governor Ngilari Joins Tributes as Distinguished General Hananiya (Rtd) Celebrates 84th Birthday

Former Governor of Adamawa State, Barrister Bala James Ngilari, has extended warm felicitations to Major General Haladu Anthony Hananiya (Rtd) on the occasion of his 84th birthday, describing him as an exemplary leader whose lifelong dedication to national service continues to inspire generations.

In a heartfelt message, Ngilari praised General Hananiya’s illustrious career in the Nigerian Army, where he rose to the rank of Major General, serving in key commands such as General Officer Commanding the 2nd Mechanised Division in Ibadan.

The former governor highlighted Hananiya’s post-retirement contributions, including his tenure as Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) from 1994 to 1999, during which he played a pivotal role in strengthening road safety administration in Nigeria.

“General Hananiya is a humble and steadfast public servant whose life has been devoted to serving our nation and community,” Ngilari stated.

“As a fellow son of Adamawa and a member of the Gongola People’s Forum, where he serves as national leader, I am proud of his unwavering commitment to unity and development in our region.”

Ngilari’s tribute comes amid widespread celebrations for the retired general, who marked his birthday on January 2, 2026.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also felicitated with Hananiya, commending his diplomatic roles, including as Ambassador to Ethiopia, and his ongoing grassroots leadership uniting ethnic nationalities in Adamawa and Taraba states.

Both Ngilari and Hananiya share deep ties to Adamawa State and are prominent figures in the Gongola People’s Forum’s Council of Elders, underscoring their shared vision for regional progress.
