Ex-PDP National Chairman, Ogbulafor dies at 73 in Canada

A former National Chairman of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, is dead.

Ogbulafor, according to family sources, died on Thursday in Canada at the age of 73.

He was said to have suffered from an undisclosed ailment before he passed on peacefully on Thursday night in Canada.

Ogbulafor hailed from Olokoro, in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.

He was PDP’s National Secretary before he later became National Chairman.

He was also forced to resign as PDP national chairman just like many others after falling out of favour with some powerful stakeholders in the party.

As a Minister under Obasanjo, Ogbulafor was also charged with an alleged financial recklessness.

It was under the reign of Ogbulafor as the PDP Chairman that the party boasted that it would rule Nigeria for 60 years.

The party was however defeated by the All Progressives Congress in 2015.

Ogbulafor was succeeded as the National Chairman of the PDP by former Enugu State governor, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.
