Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, returned to Abuja after an extraordinary display of commitment and solidarity, having personally attended all seven coronations of the newly established chiefdoms and emirates in Adamawa State.

The events, which concluded on February 20, 2025, marked a historic transformation in the state’s traditional leadership structure, and Mustapha’s presence at each ceremony has been hailed as a passion to his deep-rooted love for his home state and its people.

As the only prominent figure from Adamawa’s political elite to traverse the region—spanning Fufore, Guyuk, Maiha, Hong, Madagali, and Gombi—Mustapha demonstrated an inclusive spirit and unwavering dedication to fostering peace and unity.

Known as a true son of Adamawa, the former SGF canceled all prior engagements to remain in the state, ensuring he bore witness to the crowning of each new traditional ruler. His actions have been widely praised as those of a peacemaker and a leader who embraces all tribes without segregation, leaving an indelible mark on this historic moment.

Mustapha’s journey began with the coronation of HRH Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, Emir of Fufore, at the Fufore Emirate, headquartered in Fufore. He then attended the coronation of HRH Barrister Alheri B. Nyako, Tol Huba, in his hometown at the Huba Chiefdom, headquartered in Hong. His presence was equally notable at the Madagali Chiefdom, headquartered in Gulak, where HRH Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP), Ptil Madagali, was coronated on February 19, 2025—a date confirmed when Governor Fintiri presented the staff of office to Dr. Danburam, marking the official installation of the Madagali Chiefdom.

Mustapha also attended the coronation of HRH Aggrey Ali, Kumu of Gombi, at the Gombi Chiefdom, headquartered in Gombi, and was highly present at the conclusion of the Michika Chiefdom’s coronation, where HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, Mbege Ka Michika, was installed as ruler, with the chiefdom headquartered in Michika. Remarkably, he appeared in Maiha for the coronation of HRH Ahmadu Saibaru, Emir of Maiha, at the Maiha Emirate, headquartered in Maiha, on February 13, 2025.

Finally, he witnessed the historic coronation of HRH John Dio, Gubo Yungur, at the Yungur Chiefdom, headquartered in Dumne, Song Local Government Area, further underscoring the significance of these events.

These coronations, part of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s ambitious restructuring of Adamawa’s traditional institutions, established seven new chiefdoms and emirates—Huba (Hong), Madagali (Gulak), Michika (Michika), Fufore, Gombi, Maiha, and Yungur (Dumne). Held over several weeks, the ceremonies symbolized a new era of grassroots governance, security, and cultural preservation. Mustapha’s active participation, including offering support and contributions to each event, underscored his role as an icon of development and a unifying figure in the region.

Boss’ time, resources sacrifices were praised at all the venues of the event whenever Governor Fintiri takes the podiums for his speech. Boss Mustapha also described Fintiri as a fearless leader who has rewrote the true history of the people of Adamawa state and created another history for posterity to judge him well.
