In a decisive crackdown on fraudulent activities, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID), arrested a female suspect, Face Samuel, on April 22, 2025.
The arrest followed credible intelligence linking the suspect, a resident of Army Barracks Road in Yola North Local Government Area, to a series of impersonation and job scam schemes.
Face Samuel is accused of posing as a Vehicle Inspection Officer (V.I.O) and swindling unsuspecting victims out of a combined sum of ₦350,000. Her targets—Blessing Kefas, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos, and Friday Adamu—were deceived with false promises of employment at the Vehicle Inspection Office under the Ministry of Transportation in Adamawa State.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crimes and revealed that the V.I.O uniform used in her fraudulent activities was supplied by an unidentified individual. Efforts are underway to trace this accomplice and unravel the full scope of the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc(+), commended the SID operatives for their swift action and urged the public to remain vigilant and report individuals engaging in similar deceptive practices.
He assured residents of a thorough investigation to identify additional victims and collaborators, emphasizing the command’s commitment to rooting out criminal elements in the state.
