FCT Minister, Wike Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for FCTA Employees

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has authorized the immediate implementation of a new national minimum wage of N70,000 for employees of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement released on Monday by Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, the approval aims to alleviate the challenges faced by FCTA workers.

Additionally, the minister has approved the payment of three months’ arrears for all administration staff, starting from November 2024.

The statement emphasized that this decision reflects the minister’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of his employees. Adayilo noted that the initiative is expected to motivate the entire FCTA staff to support the minister in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She also expressed gratitude to the minister for his prompt approvals regarding staff allowances and  claims.
