The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has made significant strides in improving healthcare delivery in the nation’s capital, despite economic challenges.
Under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike, the FCTA has implemented various initiatives aimed at reducing the burden of healthcare costs on residents.
This move has helped reduce child mortality rates and alleviated the financial burden on parents
Recently, the FCTA disbursed over one million doses of malaria-preventive medication to children in the FCT, courtesy of a grant from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). This move has helped reduce child mortality rates and alleviated the financial burden on parents.
Additionally, the FCTA has entered into a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) arrangement with NISA Premier Medical Group to promote affordable and accessible healthcare delivery. This partnership aims to complement the government’s efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The FCTA’s health sector reforms have yielded positive results, with patients from neighboring states flocking to FCT-owned General Hospitals to access quality healthcare services. The success of these initiatives has earned praise from residents and healthcare professionals alike.
While Minister Wike faces political challenges, his legacy in the health sector may be cemented by these reforms, which have improved the lives of countless residents in the FCT and beyond.
