All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu has urged Nigerians, especially Christians, not to be afraid of the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket because it is the work and will of God.
The comment by Adamu is coming amid the kicks against APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, who is a Muslim and his choice of former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, also a Muslim, as his running mate for the 2023 elections.
The APC chairman, who stated this on Wednesday when he led the party’s National Working Committee on a courtesy call to President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura Katsina State, said Nigerians have nothing to worry about the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
Expressing confident that APC will win this Saturday’s governorship in Osun State, Adamu said the expected victory would serve as a pointer to the victory of 2023.
Adamu, a former Nasarawa State governor explained that they visited Buhari to brief him on what transpired in Osun State on Tuesday during the APC governorship mega rally campaign.
On Tinubu/Shettima ticket, Adamu said that the ruling party went through a rigorous practical assignment on the selection process before arriving at the Muslim-Muslim ticket.
He described Kashim Shettima as a Nigerian citizen who does not need to be either Muslim or Christian before being selected as running mate to a presidential candidate.
He appreciated Christians in the country for showing interest in the Muslim-Muslim ticket, but advised that Nigerians should face the realities of the country’s policies.
He said the APC is doing everything legally right and praying to win the 2023 elections.
