Federal Government Begins Sale Of Subsidized Rice To Nigerians

The Federal Government has commenced the sale of 30,000 metric tonnes of milled rice to Nigerians at a subsidized price of N40,000 per 50-kilogram bag.

The distribution was officially launched on Thursday in Abuja by Abubakar Kyari, who stated that the initiative is a timely intervention considering the current challenges facing the nation.

The subsidized rice sale is expected to bring relief to many Nigerians struggling with high food prices and economic hardship

Kyari attributed the gesture to President Bola Tinubu’s directive, aimed at ensuring that Nigerians do not go to bed hungry. He described the initiative as a “historical, all-important, and long-awaited” effort to address food insecurity in the country.

The subsidized rice sale is expected to bring relief to many Nigerians struggling with high food prices and economic hardship. The government’s intervention is seen as a step towards fulfilling President Tinubu’s promise to address the nation’s food security challenges.
