To prove their legitimacy as bonafide delegates of All progressives congress, APC, Adamawa state who participated and formed the three national delegates that voted for Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.
Fifty delegates from Lamurde Local Government area of Adamawa state concluded plans to join in the appeal case of the APC after the judgment of federal high court in Yola by A. M Anka was passed.
The verdict which was part of the Court’s decision passed in Yola that Hon Justice A.M Anka nullified the Governorship primary election conducted on the 26th-27th May, 2022.
The delegates in a resolution reached issued a statement signed by Hon Joseph Mwadiyale and presented to this medium said they are legal delegates who carried out constitutional mandate of the party unchallenged, the court on its judgment must not say otherwise.
Joseph, while reading the statement said it is worthy of note that the Local Government Delegates that voted for the House of Assembly aspirants, House Of Representative and the Senatorial aspirants were all products of the duly conducted special delegates congress conducted through the consensus mode of election in May,2022 in Lamurde.
“It is also on good record that there is no aspirant at any level that challenged the list of the delegates for whatsoever reason during campaigns and voting at the Lamido Cinema on 26th May 2022.
“It is also on records that all the aspirants and their representatives visited Lamurde Delegates in their lodges in Yola lobbying for support and votes during the primary election.” Joseph said
Joseph recalled how the court In its judgment ruled in favor of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu the Plaintiff and ordered internal that the election that produced Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed is invalid because of manifested irregularities, the court also nullified the said election and went further to rule that there was NO SPECIAL DELEGATES congress in Lamurde LGA before the Guber primaries, hence the delegates list of Lamurde duly submitted to INEC is invalid, illegal and unknown to law.
Affirming their authenticity as party delegates stated that the allegation by Mr.Nicks Kaino that the illegal delegates listed and included the names of the three National Delegates that participated and voted for H.E.Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Special Presidential National Convention at Eagle Square in Abuja in July 2022.
“In the light of the judgment of the Federal High Court referred above, the 50 State Delegates of Lamurde convened a meeting today in Lamurde town where they extensively discussed and resolved to engage a team of Lawyers to file an appeal to enable them to join the Governorship case at the Court of Appeal Yola for the determination of their legal right as duly elected Delegates to vote Incase a re-election or fresh primary election as they cannot afford to miss out in any probable exercise that they are entitled to participate under the Party Constitution, the Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” He added
