This was announced in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education on Wednesday and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade.

According to the statement, the Central Bank of Nigeria has remitted 50 percent of the approved outstanding obligations for 2025 to Nigerian embassies and missions for immediate payment to eligible scholars.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, said the affected missions have been directed to commence disbursement immediately, urging beneficiaries to monitor their accounts.

Alausa described the payment as a demonstration of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian students abroad under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The government reaffirmed its dedication to meeting obligations to scholars and promoting quality education, student welfare, and national human capital development.
