The Federal Government has officially announced Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo conveyed warm Easter greetings to Christians nationwide, emphasizing the significance of the season.
The statement, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Magdalene Ajani, urged citizens to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ, whose death represents a cornerstone of Christian faith.
Tunji-Ojo called on all Nigerians to take advantage of the holiday period to engage in prayers for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation. He reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to drive national growth and development.

In addition to spiritual reflection, the Minister encouraged acts of kindness and generosity, urging citizens to foster goodwill among their neighbors during this festive season. “Let us embody the spirit of Easter by extending love and compassion to those around us,” he stated.
