Bandits have formerly been declared terrorists by the Federal Government.

The declaration of the criminals terrorising the country as terrorists is contained in the Federal Governments Gazette proscribing their existence and restraining any person or group of persons from participating in activities of bandit groups.

This is coming more than a month after the Abuja Federal High Court declared bandits as terrorists.

The court ruling followed an ex parte motion filed by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Justice.
