FG Pledges More Support To FRSC Operations

The Federal Government has pledged to continuously support the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in its operations to ensure effective road service delivery to Nigerians.

The pledge was made by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, at the commissioning ceremony of the newly acquired operational vehicles for the Corps.

Mustapha underscored the policy thrust of the administration by saying that “it is also on record that the policy thrust of this administration towards ensuring, accelerated economic growth and the plugging of conduits for economic leakages is targeted at building an inclusive social system”.

The SGF noted that the commission of the 74 units of Innoson IVM 4×2 Double Cabin Pick-Ups and 3 Ambulances testify to the administration’s support to the agency.

He emphasized that the Federal Government will continue to invest in all areas designed to promote effective and efficient transportation system through massive road construction and rehabilitation projects across the country.

Mustapha commended the visionary leadership and exceptional resilience of the Management and Staff of FRSC who have worked assiduously to reduce incidences of road crashes in the country.

On the brand of vehicles procured by the corps, the SGF stated, “the choice of the Innoson IVM brand of vehicles is equally commendable as it conforms to the ideals and dictates of Presidential Executive Order 3 (EO3) on support for local content in public procurement.”

In that regard, he urged all Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) to emulate the fine example of FRSC in the procurement of locally made vehicles in their operations.

Speaking earlier, the Corps Marshall, FRSC, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi thanked the Federal Government for its support particularly, in the acquisition of operational materials and capacity building.

He promised to put into effective use, the vehicles for sustainable road management activities to ease the implementation and achievement of the FRSC Strategic Goals for the year 2019.
