‎The Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme is a key component of this initiative, with seven cities being developed – one in each geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory. Cities in Kano, Lagos, and the FCT are already at an advanced stage, while work is set to begin soon in the North East, North Central, South South, and South East zones.

‎This initiative prioritizes affordability, job creation, and local participation. Each housing unit is expected to generate an average of 25 direct and indirect jobs, translating to approximately 252,800 jobs nationwide. The government is also promoting the use of local building materials and labor, supporting local industries and artisans.

Project Details:

  • Total Housing Units:77,400 units nationwide, with 100 units allocated to each of the 774 local government areas
  • Renewed Hope Cities: 3,000 housing units each in Lagos, Abuja, and Kano
  • Target Completion Date: August 2025 for some projects
  • Payment Options: Single-digit mortgage loans, Rent-to-Own schemes, and Outright Purchase options

‎The government has assured contractors that outstanding payments will be made as soon as practicable and urged them to adhere to delivery timelines. This initiative aims to not only provide shelter but also stimulate economic growth, empower communities, and bring homeownership closer to everyday Nigerians.
