The Federal Government will include the Almajiri system in the national school feeding programme to ensure adequate feeding for schoolchildren across the nation.
Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Home-Grown School Feeding disclosed this during a courtesy call on the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.
Dr. Adeniji said the visit is to inform the Governor about the Federal Government’s plans to expand the national school feeding programme to Almajiri schools, because of President Tinubu’s passionate about to school feeding programme.
Responding, Governor Umar Namadi disclosed that the school feeding programme has been successful and impactful in Jigawa State, and thanked the SSA for the visit and also President Tinubu for agreeing to continue with the programme
“In Jigawa, we know the benefit of the program, and we are eager to see it coming back,” he said.
Namadi assured that government will give all the necessary support for the success of the programme.
