Fight in Adamawa PDP is looming as party chieftain attacks Speaker Iya Abbas, calls him a ‘Monumental Failure’

A serious political fight is eminent in the Adamawa People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family as one A. A. Lawan Uba described himself a chieftain of the party from Uba/Gaya constituency, Hong local government of the state and talked down Rt Hon Abbas Aminu Iya, the state’s assembly speaker a ‘monumental failure’ to the state and his constituency.

He Chronicled the steward of Iya since his inception as the speaker when he was skewed voted into power in 2019, he has done nothing to improve the lives of the people of his constituency.

Lawan said this in an interview with TG NEWS’s reporter, where he noted that the speaker is only interested in serving his interest not the generality of the people of Uba/Gaya whose glory, mandate and power is vaunting around with.

The speaker who is representing Uba/Gaya constituency in Adamawa State House of Assembly is no doubt facing a grassroots party disharmony, a development Lawan said may degenerate to a bigger fight of PDP family across the state if not well managed.

“He came to power with a margin of only 13 votes against Mohammed Hayatu Atiku of All Progressive Congress, APC who was rigged out in the whole process.

Regrettably, as Uba opined, he wasted his time, resources by championing a cause in bringing a gross failure political figure in Abbas who is not serving the people.

‘Unfortunately, I supported an underperforming lawmaker, it is unfortunate we have a speaker who cannot work for the masses of our dear state and a legislature who is after his interest,’ Lawan said.

He said Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the state should be wary of Iya because is riding on the wings of his achievements and huge performance for the people of the state to fly the card of his national assembly ambition in the forthcoming election.

A A Uba While calling on Adamawa people, especially those from the central zone to shun the speaker’s plot, he said PDP will much regret it in 2023 if they give a helping hand of support to people like Iya any political assignment

‘He is busy going around scheming how to contest senatorial seat using Governor Ahmadu’s name. May I please tell my dear governor that this man can’t deliver anything good for our state, he doesn’t have the capacity and is not an electable and saleable political product.

‘His dream of wanting to become a senator for the central zone is a far-fetched one. I cannot see it coming into reality because we are no longer in the business of supporting a failure.

‘This man never contributed meaningfully to the development of our constituency in the floor of the house, I doubt it much if he has any law in the interest of Adamawa state,’ Lawan explained.

Lawan a former governorship aspirant revealed that the last election between Hayatu of APC and Iya of PDP was rigged against APC and alleged that the speaker’s victory in the 2019 election was done through the rigging of the election against Hayatu.

Revealing how the speaker emerged, Lawan said ‘Iya never won the election, the APC candidate in our area gallantly won with over eight hundred votes, but Aminu received support from all stakeholders and the election was rigged in his favor. But in actual sense, I must tell you and the world should know that the APC man, Hayatu, inarguably won the election.’

The looming fight coming to the PDP party as 2023 draws nearer, Mr. Lawan told our reporter that despite being in the same party, he felt it is mandatory to reveal to the world the Speaker’s incompetence that he cannot bring about any dividends of democracy and it shouldn’t be traded or taken with laxity.

He added that his loyalty to the party and government of the state is unshakeable and will continue to serve it wholeheartedly at any level.
