The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

Dr. Sabo, an experienced Information Systems professional and education administrator, brings a wealth of expertise in digital skills development, programme management, academic administration, innovation, and information technology. She currently serves as a Tutor and IT Coordinator at American University of Nigeria.

In her new role, Dr. Sabo will be responsible for coordinating the academy’s daily operations, overseeing student onboarding, managing stakeholder relations, supervising academic administration, and driving strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening the institution’s impact.

The Adamawa Digital Academy is one of the flagship projects under the Adamawa 2.0 Digital Transformation Agenda. The initiative is designed to equip more than 100,000 youths and civil servants with digital and emerging technology skills, preparing them for opportunities in the modern economy.

Government officials say the academy is expected to play a significant role in advancing digital literacy, innovation, and technology-driven development across the state while positioning Adamawa as a hub for digital skills training in Nigeria and beyond.

Governor Fintiri congratulated Dr. Sabo on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to deliver on the academy’s vision. He also wished her success as she takes on the responsibility of helping to build a new generation of digitally skilled citizens.

The appointment marks another step in the state government’s efforts to expand access to technology education and accelerate its broader digital transformation programme.
