Fintiri not nursing vice president ambition, Adamawa PDP Chieftain reveals

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Umar Bello Jada aka Calculate has posited that the only way the north can secure victory in his party’s presidential primaries is by going into the race as an indivisible entity through a consensus arrangement.

Calculate who lauded the giant strides of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri dispelled rumours to the effect that the governor is nursing a vice-presidential ambition noting that Fintiri will serve the state for eight years in order to superintend its transformation to a modern economy.

The politician noted that arm chair politicians who have lost relevance and substance get temporary relief by spreading wild rumours against the governor noting however that instead of such rumours to distract the governor, his commitment to serve the people always prod him to more.

“Let me dispel a rumour to the effect that Fintiri is nursing a vice-presidential ambition. Candidly, such speculation is the handwork of arm chair politicians who have lost relevance in the polity.

“They have the rights to spread their malice and our amiable governor will keep mesmerizing them as his commitment to serve the good people of Adamawa remains unfazed,” he said.

While noting that the only way the north can make a good outing in the party’s presidential primaries is to produce a consensus candidate, Calculate urged the aspirants to choose the best among themselves considering the uniqueness of each of the aspirants.

He noted that while Atiku is the most suited if age is the consideration, he said younger politicians with ebullient ideas should be considered as a factor for the clamour for youthful leadership that is gaining much demands in Nigeria.

Calculate noted that unlike other regions that produced presidents, the north east has been marginalized for a long time advising other Nigerians to consider that while electing the next presidential candidate.

He said unless the north produced a consensus candidate, their chances in presidential primaries are slim adding that as conscienctous and loyal party men, they will solidly back whoever emerged as the party’s touchbearer whether he hails from the north or south.
