Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, is to commission 2,000 capacity student hostel at the Adamawa State University Mubi.

Governor Fintiri, who disclosed this in Gella, Mubi South, at a campaign engagement, said the inauguration of the 2,000 bed hostel will hold on December 12th, as part of activities to mark the convocation ceremonies for 2019/20 and 20/21 graduation ceremony of the institution.

Fintiri said his running mate Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta George, who’s the first female Vice Chancellor of the, state owned institution, has performed remarkably well in office since her historic appointment as Vice Chancellor.

He said, ” As a result of her stewardship the institution which was faltering before her appointment has been revived and now doing astonishingly well in all fronts.Under stewardship four new faculties were built as well as 2,000 bed hostel to help address shortage of student accomodation on the Sahuda campus of the institution.”
He also explained that until the advent of the new VC, under his administration, the institution stayed 11 years without holding its convocation ceremony for graduands.

He however noted that only last year the university was able to conduct the graduation of 12 sets, adding that on December 12, 2022 the institution will be conducting graduation ceremony for two sets of graduands who recently completed their courses in the institution.

He said, ” On the same day that I will be coming to commission the newly built hostel for students of Adamawa state University, Mubi, I will be performing the foundation laying ceremony for the Mubi International Cattle market, which has never before been seen in Africa. The market, which is to be built as a modern industrial livestock park, as the first of its kind in Africa, as a cattle market with modern meat processing plant, an administrative block, fire station, with a hotel, hospital and recreation park and all amenities required to truly make it one of the few industrial complex of excellence for livestock business in Nigeria and Africa.”
