The celebration of men who have distinguished themselves in their chosen endevour is a must (Yabon Goni, ya zama Dole), either directly in words or actions, or indirectly in your thought even where your actions are not saying so. The Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri have indeed proven his worth in the political landscape of Adamawa State and in the historic records of Nigerian Democracy.
Starting from grassroot politics, to a legislator in the state assembly, rising to the topmost leadership in state legislation, with record-breaking attainment in his tenure as the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly. Governor Fintiri have also broken the gerne of stagnation is state development, by engaging in massive infrastructural development in both urban and rural areas of the state in all sectors of state economy.
From inception after his inauguration on 29th of May, 2019, Governor Fintiri in his inaugural speech said and I quote “I hereby affirm and declare that hope have been restored, and true change has come to Adamawa State.” Without missing words, one can clearly say that hope have been restored and true change have indeed come to Adamawa state. The governor might not be playing the regular political game as it was in the beginning of this republic, or as known and used to ‘bring and share politicians’, the bottom line is that Adamawa state is working and the people are happy.
Fintiri is his characteristic trait is a humble and patient man, but strong and determined in his will to deliver, which is why he have delivered to the people full dividend of democracy as he promised during his campaign and more are still counting. Steady with all he must bear as public servant, prepared and ready to face challenges as every day presents in an executive office. Officially, Fintiri works with principles and also with care, that is why he takes all projects and programmes of government very serious and important, making sure he inspects all ongoing projects both is urban centers or rural communities in Local Government Areas of the state. .
Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is indeed a leader of note, many may not agree with this assertion, but that is the fact. Politics and governance are two marrying concepts, but it takes a great leader to put each in proper perspective. Governor Fintiri have done just that in the state, governing all the people of the state, then doing the politics of PDP. He is easy in his manners, yet solid as steel in his decisions to create the new Adamawa State, taking not no for answer in every prospect of government development (His Can-Do Spirit). He’s never afraid to propose what is bold, because he believe every challenge in life have solution. This is the magic wand that led to the gigantic infrastructural development witnessed in recent times; the Total Flyover named after the late Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Aliyu Mustapha, the Police Roundabout Flyover and Grade Interchange, the Mubi Roundabout Flyover that is under construction and the super highway from welcome to Yola bye-pass to Barracks Road (first of its kind in the state) with many roads, bridges and other people-oriented infrastructures across the state.
The governor is always in a haste to better the lots of his people; this part of Governor Fintiri was made manifest after the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal government. He was prompt in his response to proffer solutions to cushion the effect of hike in every area of human endevour. Governor Fintiri judiciously earmarked and utilized state finance with support from the Federal Government intervention to provide food palliatives, financial palliative to all state civil servants and pensioners, procurement of Innoson luxurious buses for the ease of transportation in the state both for township shuttles and inter-local government transits to ease the high-cost movement of goods and persons which is triggered by the fuel price increment, and the people are happy for it. Governor Fintiri’s patronage of made in Nigeria vehicles have proven that he is indeed one governor that believe in the Growth of the Nigerian state and is sincere to grow the Naira.
Fintiri is indeed a goal getter, always reaching for every goal that was set, even when doubted for why he would fight, but because the course is right, he will never backdown until he makes his case clear, proving it is for the benefit of all. He is a trail blazer, a path finder, breaking new ground for the good of the state, a trusted and worthy leader.
A Fintirified Leader, the people’s governor (Gwamnan Talakawa), he means the words he says, and keep his words in action, delivering all his campaign promises; “Promises made, promises kept”, which is why, no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched in the governance agenda of his administration, and on that premise, the people have given him another term to continue the good work, “one good turn, deserves another”.
Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Executive Governor of Adamawa State, you are indeed a trusted leader. As the world join Her Excellency Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri your darling wife, your children, your cabinet and the good people of Adamawa to celebrate you today, the 27th day of October. I congratulate you for attaining the Graceful Age of 56. As you celebrate this new age, I pray for better knowledge of governance, wisdom to deal with public administration and political management, good health and prosperity. 56 Happy Cheers to a Man of the People, Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns Your Excellency.
