Leading the charge is ALGON Chairman and Toungo Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Ahmed Gangkua, whose own remarkable leadership has amplified Fintiri’s vision, creating a powerful partnership driving progress across Adamawa.

In a heartfelt letter, Hon. Gangkua, speaking for all 21 Local Government Chairmen and the people of Toungo, congratulated Governor Fintiri on his outstanding six-year tenure.

“Your commitment to development has inspired us all,” Gangkua wrote. “As ALGON Chairman, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of your leadership, bringing hope and prosperity to every corner of Adamawa.”

Since taking office in 2019, Governor Fintiri, fondly called “Mr. Projects,” has redefined Adamawa’s landscape with groundbreaking initiatives. From the iconic Jimeta flyover, easing traffic and earning praise from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to rural electrification projects lighting up remote villages, Fintiri’s focus on infrastructure has connected communities and sparked economic growth.

“Your leadership style, rooted in inclusivity, transparency, and accountability, has earned you the admiration of Adamawans,” Gangkua noted.

Fintiri’s achievements shine in education, where Adamawa has led the Northeast in WAEC and NECO performance for three consecutive years, with over 65% of students securing five credits, including Mathematics and English.

Free basic education, fully funded exam fees, and new smart schools have fueled this success. In healthcare, new hospitals, renovated clinics, and the State Health Insurance Scheme, offering free care to children under five, pregnant women, and the elderly, have placed Adamawa at the top of Northeast health indices.

Economic reforms under Fintiri’s State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme have boosted Adamawa’s Ease of Doing Business score from 5.25 in 2021 to 5.86 in 2023, climbing 10 positions nationally.

The state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has grown, and its top-five ranking in Nigeria’s State Fiscal Transparency League Table since 2023 reflects Fintiri’s fiscal discipline. “Your 80% budget performance in 2024 and 50% debt reduction are unmatched,” Gangkua praised.

Complementing Fintiri’s vision is Hon. Suleiman Ahmed Gangkua, a beacon of leadership in Toungo and across Adamawa. As ALGON Chairman, Gangkua has fostered unity among local governments, driving collaboration to support Fintiri’s agenda.

In Toungo, his tenure has brought significant development, from improved infrastructure to community-focused initiatives that uplift residents. “Gangkua’s ability to bring people together and promote progress is inspiring,” said a local resident, reflecting widespread admiration for his leadership.

Gangkua’s letter praised Fintiri’s inclusive governance, particularly programmes like the Fintiri Business Wallet, empowering women and youths.

“Your leadership leaves no one behind,” he wrote, pledging the support of all Local Government Areas to sustain Fintiri’s transformative projects, such as the recently launched ultra-modern International Conference and Events Centre in Yola, set to position Adamawa as a tourism and conference hub.

Gangkua prayed for divine guidance for Fintiri, adding, “We look forward to more years of your effective leadership.”
