Fistula Day: 168 survivors rally out in Kano as key actors get excellent award

The Fistula Foundation Nigeria has presented an award of excellence to Professor. Kees Waaldijk, Dr. Amir Imam Yola, Professor Idris Abubakar Suleiman of AKTH, and UNFPA Nigeria in commemoration of 2023 Fistula international Day in Kano.

Our correspondent reports that Professor Waaldijk, is an expert fistula surgeon and master trainer, and Gillian Slinger, who initiated the UN approved International Day to End Fistula.

During the ceremony no fewer than 168 survivors rally out to show their appreciation over the free service rendered to them by the foundation and other partners .

Among the dignitaries present at the occasion include Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Zahra Muhammad along side Permanent secretary and all women directors from Ministry of Health and Women Affairs carrying banner .
