The bridge linking Maiduguri, Gamobru, Cameroon, Central Africa international road known for international trade of the countries of Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, central Africa republic and other African countries has collapsed by bridge.
The international road is known for daily transportation of goods and services, generating millions of Naira as revenue to Nigerian government is call for urgent attention by the Borno State Governor.

Speaking while assessing the cut-off bridge In Dikwa, the Borno state Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum appealed to the Federal Government to construct Dam along the river to forestall future flooding and boost agricultural activities.
“we remain grateful to the Federal Government, we remain grateful to the President and Vice President for the support, but like Oliver twist i am appealing to the Federal to come to our aid, so that this road will be reconstructed, if not Borno will be completely cut-off from the rest of the world He said “the devastating flood has cut-off Maiduguri, DiKwa, Gamboru,, , Right now food and non foods items is not accessible to about four local government areas, as well as Chad Republic, Cameroon and Central Africa.”

The Governor said ” the concern of the citizens of Dikwa will be convey to Mr President and indeed the Vice President Federal Republic of Nigeria so that a solution will be looked into Request for the construction of Dam in this area is apt and timely, both the state and Federal Government will look at the possibility of constructing a Dam in this area.”
Governor Zulum who rode on a canoe to cross the cut-off bridge sympathized with people of Dikwa over the flood incident that killed four person, cut-off the road and destroyed many houses and property worth millions of Naira.
“It is unfortunate that road between Maiduguri, Dikwa, Ngala, Marte and Kala Balge has completely cut-off. This year’s flooding is so devastated. People think Maiduguri and Jere were the only local government areas affected, you can see right from Mafa to Dikwa which is about 50 kilometers has been completely submerged by flooding”, Zulum said.
“The main road linking Maiduguri, Cameroon to republic of Chad and Central Africa has completely cut-off, people using canoe and other means to transport food and non food items to Gamboru Ngala and other areas, therefore, as his Royal Highest Shehu pleaded. i am also speaking to the Federal Government to interven”, Zulum said.
However, he said for an immediate measures, the term from ministry of works and BORMA would be deployed to assess the level of damaged, adding that, in the next two week, we believe the flood will dry, so that we can immediately rehabilitate the road and motorist will pass.
“Unfortunately, lives were lost in these particular point, few days ago , because people can no longer cross, by their feet even with canoe, just yesterday people were capsized and four people died, people think, it is only Maiduguri and Jere were affected by the flood, he added.
