Already, the Honourable Court has remanded the accused person at a correctional service facility after he had pleaded not guilty to the offense upon which he was brought to the court.

News Platform was informed that the embattled Legal Practitioner was earlier apprehended in connection to the offense following a petition to the Commissioner of Police in the state by the complainant.

In her petition, Barr Farida, informed the police that she first the accused at the Federal High Court in 2019, saying that after some time, they had a chat and agreed to register a Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) to offer free legal services to inmates awaiting trial.

She narrated that they registered the NGO known as”Justice and Peace Initiative” with the Corporate Affairs Commission, explaining that along with the line misunderstanding ensued between them, and decided to quit the NGO having dissatisfied with Barr Tijjani’s action.

According to her, after she announced her decision to withdraw from the NGO, Barr. Tijjani started insulting her by calling her all sorts of names such as gold digger, thief, idiot, incompetent lawyer, and a disgrace to the law profession.

She averred that the defendant via WhatsApp threatened that he has her recorded conversion/video which he will use to expose and implicate her.

When the case came up for mention, the Prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, prayed the court to read the content of the First Information Report (FIR) to the hearing of the defendant to enable him to enter his plea.

But when the FIR was read to the accused, he denied committing the alleged offense.

In its ruling, the court presided by Honourable Abubakar Muhammed, ordered for the remand of the suspect in prison custody and adjourned the matter to the 1st July 2021, for hearing.

News Platform gathered that a letter sent by the Adamawa State Police Command to the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) State chapter to confirm the membership of the suspect could not be replied to.
