In a shocking political development, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada, popularly known as Depolis, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Chairman of Michika Local Government Area, has officially resigned from the party. The resignation, effective immediately, was announced in a letter dated July 31, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Wambilimi Tilli Ward.
Kwada, a seasoned politician with a storied career, cited consultations with his political associates and family members as the basis for his decision. His extensive political resume includes roles such as former Councillor of Wambilimi Tilli Ward, former Supervisory Councillor for Works, Transport, Land, and Survey in Michika Local Government Area, former Legislative Leader (MLC), former Caretaker Chairman of Michika, and a two-term Member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly (ADHA).
Additionally, he served as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) and Special Assistant (SA) to former Governor Murtala Nyako.
The resignation letter, signed by Kwada, marks the end of his long association with the APC, leaving political analysts speculating about his next move. His departure is seen as a significant blow to the party’s influence in Michika and Adamawa State, given his deep roots and extensive experience.
Local residents and political stakeholders are awaiting further statements from Kwada to clarify his future political ambitions. The APC leadership has yet to issue an official response to the resignation.
