The former minister of Youth and Sport development Solomon Dalung, has joined the protest in Jos.
Speaking at the event, Dalung asked security operatives not to intimidate protesters, because the amended Nigerian constitution gives rights to citizens to stage such protest, since its peaceful.
The former Minister who served in the first tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari, administration noted that the suffering is becoming unbearable.
Despite warnings and plea by government, and organizations for citizens in Plateau state not to join the nation wide protest against bad governance in Nigeria; a renounced Christian cleric Isa Elbuba has led a peaceful protest in Jos, the Plateau state capital, holding in Jos Thursday.
The said protest is currently taking place at the old Airport roundabout, in the heart of the city, Jos South local government area with participants holding Nigerian flags, a sign of peace.
Addressing supporters of the nation wide protest present, the cleric called on President Bola Tinubu should resign.
“President Bola Tinubu must resign, we can not wait for 2027 to change him, hunger will not all us to endure that long.”
Isa Elbuva said he will mobilise more persons to join the protest in the coming days.
He said the economic challenges been melted on ordinary Nigerians was deliberate; according to him, Nigeria as a country has all it’s take to cater for all citizens adequately.
Isa Elbuba said the government have enslaved it citizens in their land, and said such must stop.
“We are going to be here for the next ten day, if you don’t stand up for your right, no one will do it for you. ”
Isa Elbuba informed that government officials are afraid of the ongoing protest because they know that the policies and programs being implemented are anti people.
The clergyman insisted that they will not retreat until the demands of the masses for a better living was achieved.
