Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar yesterday visited Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to commiserate with Governor Babagana Zulum and the victims of the recent devastating floods that ravaged the state.
During his visit, Atiku donated N100 million to support the relief efforts and rebuilding initiatives in the affected communities.
Addressing Governor Zulum and other state officials, Atiku expressed his deepest condolences to the government and people of Borno State over the catastrophic flooding that resulted in loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of hundreds of thousands from their homes.

“I am deeply saddened by the scale of destruction and suffering caused by the floods,” Atiku said. “You are not alone in this difficult time, and I, on behalf of my family, pledge my full support towards the rebuilding efforts.”
Atiku’s visit was aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Borno State and assessing the extent of damage caused by the floods. He urged the federal and state governments to work together to provide immediate relief to the affected communities.

Governor Zulum appreciated Atiku’s gesture, describing it as a “timely intervention” that would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the flood victims.

Atiku’s visit and donation have been widely praised as a demonstration of his commitment to supporting Nigerians in times of need.
