On received of her first appointment Letter with the defunct Gongola State in 1986,Mrs Mary Kadzai thought was a focus to use her teaching knowledge of an NCE graduate to educate youngster with the requisite knowledge to Excell in life.
To Mary teaching profession was an adorable thing she still cherish to date. She became a class teacher during the Military regime of Ibrahim Babangida as the head of State and worked in the present days Adamawa and Taraba States. Her dexterity and Passion to work gave her a steady growth to the rank of a principal. This where she has a stability in growing her talent of a good school administrator and Madam Kadzai in the ’90s established Many secondary schools to her credit.
Today Government Secondary School (GSS) Demsawo in the Metropolitan City of Jimeta, GSS Bachure are few among the many schools that Mrs Kadzai set up and doing well because of the vision she has for a great Adamawa State.
She revealed how her glorious Life started as a student to a school teacher until the former Governor of Adamawa State,Murtala Hammanyero Nyako appointed her Deputy Permanent Secretary in 2014. In positioning herself for the task ahead,Mrs Kadzai toed the paths of hardwork and garnered knowledge of civil service where Governor Bala James Ngilari spotted her a viable tool with excellent experience that can be harnessed for the State’s use.
In 2015 Governor Bala appointed her a Permanent Secretary and her first point of duty was Ministry of Education. It was in this Ministry that her wealth of experience in education matter begin to showed up. Kadzai is on record the first Permanent Secretary that unravel the existence of Ghost Schools, Ghost Workers, Ghost Students and Ghost Teachers and the Statistics showed that Fofure Local Government was having the highest shoddy work by people who are trying to bring underdeveloped to Adamawa State.
As Civil Service code of conduct demands that a personel can be transferred to anywhere to work, this workaholic Woman of good virtue was taken to Ministry of Transportation,an almost liveless executive branch of the Government, with nothing to showforth. Her coming to the Ministry she brought life back to it,her new idea renewed the area which was more of a forgotten government agency and built a new office complex, fenced the whole Ministry.
Another giant stride she made while a Permanent Secretary is in the Ministry of of Livestock permanent where record hd shown that since Governor Left the office, there has never been a State wide vaccines for cows and other ruminants animals until when Mrs Mary assumed the work of a permanent Secretary in the Ministry. Her intuitive abilities and good working relationship with the honourable commissioner during the tenure of Sen Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow,Alhaji Isa Barima were able to jack up the yearly paucy internally generated revenue from 8 millions to 18 millions. This her impressive work has celebrated her and labelled most performing Permanent Secretary with a doing well ability anywhere she goes. This rear achievements of her attracted many awards to her in and outside the state.
From Livestock Ministry,Madam Mary was transferred to Chieftaincy affairs where she performed Excellently to end her career as a retired senior civil servant. In this Ministry,is no doubt Kadzai Left an indeleble marks of greatness of succeeding generations to read that a Woman of nobility,a Woman of gifts and talents had lived to touch life as a retired Permanent Secretary.
Mary testified the Journey from her cradle life of a teacher to a retired senior public servant, attaining the level of a Permanent Secretary was purely out of God’s Mercy and special Love. According to her the journey has thrown her into weird experience of high and low, sweet and bitter and the good,the bad,the ugly site of the civil service.

Many in Adamawa, especially civil servants in the state have described her a Mother at all times and to all people.
Danlami Adamu is one Man that had the privilege of meeting her could not hide his love to the woman (Mary) he called his Mother,extolled her a woman with the ability to listen and proffers solutions to one’s problem.
“Your warm and accommodating character, your ability to listen and proffer suggestions and solutions, most importantly, your wealth of experience and the ever open door policy in your day to day schedules will be greatly missed.” He said
Adamu adoring her when a news of her retirement revealed to him, attesting the present government in Adamawa under Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri will miss her endowed wisdom of administration and wealth of experience.
“Your passionate spirit and wisdom to work in office would be missed at a time when the govt of His Excellency Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri and Adamawa civil service needs your expertise but as ONE DOOR CLOSES ANOTHER ONE OPENS.”
