The Yola zonal command of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) has organised training workshop for the Zonal Command RS 3 Special Marshals on road safety administration in Yola.
Mr. Abdullahi Ringim, the zonal commander RS zone 3 said that the aim of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of the special marshals in the zone.
Ringim said the core objectives of the training was to equip the volunteers with requisite knowledge on road safety administration to sensitize citizens on their civic responsibility to safe guard lives and property on major roads.
Sini Kwabe, the national coordinator of the special marshals said 18,000 special marshals have been registered nationwide.
Kwabe explained that Nigeria was among the leading countries with high number of well trained special marshals adding that their services was a sacrificed to humanity.
Gov Muhammadu Bindow,who was represented by his Deputy Mr. Martinis Babale,declared the workshop open and expressed optimism for commitment and sacrifice to safe humanity by the special marshals.
He said the workshop was timely considering the end of the year festivity was a restive period.
Also in his speech, Mr. Adegoke Adetunji, the state sector commander of the corps said that the training was to complement the efforts of government for the protection of lives and property on the major highways
