Fulani Herdsmen rampages two Adamawa villages and many feared death

Farmers oof Kukowa and Shuwa Ka’ala villages area of Hong Local Government of Adamawa state have contended with Fulani herdsmen who rampaged their farms and many feared death.

A local who identified himself as Yusuf Wumanyi said the harvest times attracted the fulani herders,who were indiscriminately entering farms of the people in Kukowa down to Shuwa Ka’ala where they met a stiff resistance by the local farmers.

Wumanyi revealed that the Herds fulanis were well armed and combatant ready but met their waterloo at the village of Shuwa ka’ala were the people chased them away.

Yusuf who granted interview to Tgnews.com said no life was recorded dead at the time of filing this report but afraid the clash may result to lost of lives.

He however said many people sustain various degrees of injuries,especially people from Shuwa Ka’ala and were rushed to Hong General Hospital.

Sani Ahmed,Another eye witness who is from Shuwa narrated the story to Nigerian Tribune said:“This morning they (herdsmen) attacked and robbed a man who went to the farm to bring home his harvest.

“He returned and had barely informed the community of what happened to him when we saw them coming from all angles.
“Our local vigilante quickly mobilised and put up resistance and were able to repel them.

“But there are casualties on both sides but I cannot ascertain how many.”
Ahmed however, said the military had intervened and he hope they will be able to push the herdsmen far away.

The spokesman of Adamawa Police Command,DSP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the development and is waiting for an official report by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Hong.
