Pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu has expressed deep shock over the death of former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Gambo Jimeta.

The former police boss died on Thursday January 21, 2021 in Abuja after a protracted illness.

While expressing grief over the sad demise, Ribadu said he has lost a mentor, and one of the finest police officers in history.

” I have lost a mentor and a father figure in the death of Gambo Jimeta. The former Inspector General of police is one of the finest officers I have come across in my years of service.

” I can attest to the character of the man having worked directly under him in Lagos when I enlisted into the force.

” He is a man of impeccable character and a courageous officer who has made immense sacrifices and put the police on the path of probity and accountability. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he said.
