….As youths promise to replace him with Fintiri come 2023
Governorship posters of Alhaji Gambo Bello Nakura, the chairman of Adamawa Concerned Citizens (ACC) who was threatened by governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri have gone viral on the internet.
A viral audio clip in which governor Fintiri threatened to ruthlessly deal with Nakura, an Adamawa APC chieftain, has sparked anxiety in the state.
Many residents described the threat by Fintiri who by his official remit should protect lives and properties as unfortunate.
They noted that the timing of such threat when the state was smarting from the siege of hoodlums who vandalized and looted both government and private properties was even more worrisome.
Governor Fintiri has shortly after the audio clip went viral, via a statement by his Director General media and communications Solomon Kumanga denied threatening Nakura saying that the audio clip was deliberately doctored to sully his integrity.
But various IT experts who spoke with FOMBINATIMES confirmed the authenticity of the audio clip.
But a group under the aegis of Adamawa Global Trustees filed a suit before chief magistrate court III sitting in Yola accusing Nakura of defamating the governor and promoting instability in the state.
But following the non appearance of the group, Justice E. Dattire, the presiding judge invoked section 352 subsection 1 of the Adamawa State Criminal Justice Law and dismissed the case.
During the court session, many APC supporters hailed Nakura for maintaining moral rectitude and telling truth to power promising him that for such show of statesmanship, they will replace him with Fintiri come 2023.
