GBC’s defunct Director, Engr Jomusu is dead, family members fix Friday 15th for burial in Gyawana

The Family of Nzomoso have announced the death of their Father, Grand Father and great grand Father,Engr. Fidelis Jomusu OSA.

According to a statement signed by his Son, Mr Dede that Baba Fidelis died in Valley Clinic Yola after a protracted sickness.

The family have fixed Thursday 14th July 2022 for burial arrangement as Corpse leaves Federal Medical Center, Yola. by 2:00PM for Gyawana.

The lying in state of the defunct Gongola Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Baba Jomusu is going to be on Friday 15th 2022 at 8:00 Am and Funeral Mass and Final internment by 10:00AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Gyawana.

While condoling the Family members,an Elder statesman in Adamawa, Abubakar B Jijiwa, MFR (Sardauna Ribadu) in his condolence letter described Mr Fidelis as a great Man whose professional acumen and creative sagacity was always tested severely whenever they had challenges of transmitter breakdown and on such occasions, he was at the forefront of troubleshooting until all faults were rectified.

“On one occasion, I remember vividly Baba Nzomusu stayed on at the Mbamba Transmitting Station for 3 days without going home until the major fault was cleared.” He said

“My family and I wish to deeply sympathize with you over the demise of our friend, colleague, subordinate and compatriot, elder statesman of the Numan Federation and Adamawa state, Engr Fidelis Nzomusu, who served defunct the Gongola Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation( ABC), Yola at various levels in the Technical and Engineering Departments, the last of which was Director of Technical Services.

“Late Baba Nzomusu’s professional acumen and creative sagacity was always tested severely whenever we had challenges of transmitter breakdown and on such occasions, he was at the forefront of troubleshooting until all faults were rectified. “Engr Nzomusu was in the league of two other Bwatiye professional broadcast engineers, I personally interacted with, namely late Engr John Miji and Engr Canice Jeremonth Tajipoh, former Executive Director of Engineering at VON. I’m privileged, honoured and happy to have worked with these distinguished and dedicated professionals from the Bachama Kingdom.

“I will never forget Baba Fidelis Nzomusu’s doggedness, hardwork and sense of duty to broadcasting and Nigeria.

“Our thoughts, sympathies and prayers are with your entire family at this moment of great loss.”
