A legal practitioner and a retired General Ibrahim Bwata Malgwi Haruna ( IBM ) retired has recommended Judges, legal practitioner and would-be Lawyers to get and read the new book on documents in Nigeria.
He made the statement as the Chairman of the book launch, on Saturday in Abuja, tittled: “For the open Courts: The letters of the law of documents in Nigeria” written by Barrister Ogboi Anthony Enahoro.
According to the General, “After I retired from the Nigerian Army, I enrolled and read Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and became a legal practitioner.
“I recommend the members of the bench, bar and would be Lawyers to buy, read and make judicious use of the book written by a Lawyer who is also a researcher.” Said General IBM Haruna retired.
In his remarks, book reviewer, Dr James Agbonhese of Veritas University, Abuja said there are many ways to contribute to national growth, this book is one of the means of nation building.
He said the book of documents is vital to legal practitioners as good knowledge of evidence in documents is paramount during court processes. I read the book and I recommend it for our colleagues.
However, Barrister S.A Aimehe SAN said that it is very important for legal practitioners to have a Certified copy of documents they want to tender during legal proceedings for they to excel.
In his remarks, Author of the book, Barrister Ogboi Anthony Enahoro said he research and authored the book during the COVID-19 for the benefit legal practitioners.
The book launch was held at the FCT High Court in Maitama Abuja.
It was attended by retired Justices M. N. Oniyangi and Balami Mwada, Justice Ajoke Adepoju, Barrister S.A Aimehe SAN, Barrister Albert Uke, Director General of National Youth Service Corp, (NYSC) who was represented by acting Director of Legal Services, Barrister Chris Ogar amongst others.
