The Atiku Coalition and Solidarity Group (ATICSOG) has thrown its full weight behind the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring it the party destined to lead the emancipation of Nigerians in the 2027 general elections.

Following a high-stakes national meeting with its executives, ATICSOG announced an ambitious nationwide sensitization campaign to rally grassroots support for the ADC, urging citizens to “pick their ADC card” and join the movement for change.

National Coordinator Mustapha Ahmadu, in a fiery press statement, revealed that the group’s mission is to champion the political ideology of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has recently aligned with the ADC. “Our mandate is clear: to promote a vision of inclusive governance and national renewal through the ADC, a party poised to deliver Nigeria from its current challenges,” Ahmadu declared.

He emphasized that ATICSOG is mobilizing to take this message to every corner of the country. “We are soon going to embark on a massive sensitization campaign for our people at the grassroots to understand the logo of our new party, to embrace and fall in love with the ADC,” Ahmadu stated.

“This is what we are massively going to do in the coming weeks that will run into months.” The campaign, set to cover all local government areas across Nigeria’s 36 states, aims to ignite public enthusiasm for the ADC’s vision of unity, economic prosperity, and accountable leadership.

The announcement comes on the heels of a significant political realignment, with prominent opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and former Senate President David Mark, adopting the ADC as the platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

The coalition, unveiled in Abuja, has sparked widespread debate about the potential of a united opposition to unseat the ruling party.

Ahmadu made a passionate appeal to Nigerians, urging them to join the ADC and become part of a transformative movement. “This is a call to every Nigerian who dreams of a better future. The ADC is not just a party; it’s a fortress of revived democracy where every voice matters,” he said, echoing the coalition’s commitment to inclusivity and grassroots empowerment.

He instructed ATICSOG’s state chapters to mobilize members for immediate registration with the ADC, signaling a groundswell of political activity in the months ahead. The sensitization campaign, dubbed “Pick Your ADC Card,” will focus on educating citizens about the party’s logo—a handshake symbolizing unity across Nigeria’s diverse regions—and its core values of progressive governance and youth empowerment. Political analysts note that ATICSOG’s grassroots strategy could significantly boost the ADC’s visibility, especially in rural areas where political engagement often lags.

However, the coalition faces challenges. Some ADC members, including 2023 presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, have criticized the coalition’s adoption of the party, alleging procedural irregularities. Despite these internal frictions, ATICSOG remains confident that its campaign will galvanize public support and position the ADC as a formidable contender in 2027.

As Nigeria grapples with economic hardship, insecurity, and governance concerns, ATICSOG’s bold campaign signals a new chapter in the nation’s political journey. With the ADC as its vehicle, the coalition is banking on grassroots momentum to reshape the future. For now, the message is clear: “Pick your ADC card, and let’s build a new Nigeria together.”
