GMMC 100 yrs of existence set to unite Adamawa political bigwigs in a coming centenary celebration

The old Boys Association of General Murtal Mohammed College (GMMC), one of the provincial school in North -eastern Nigeria established by colonial masters is set to have a mega celebration to mark the school hundreds years of existence.

The Association under the Tiddo Yo Daddo Umbrella through it’s publicity Local organising Committee said the who and who in Adamawa are all products of GMMC and will hopefully honour the centenary celebration.

Malam Sa’ad Abubakar and Prof Bashir Aliyu are respectively Local organising Chairman Secretary and reiterated that the coming event is a Mega one that will revitalize education and reshape ailing unity of members across the country.

A statement revealed that the celebration will unite great men and women across political party affiliations and religion beliefs of the state.

The sub committee chairman Media and publicity of GMMC hundreds years of existence event, Alhaji Salihu Baba Ahmed signed a statement calling on all the committee members for an epoch Congress meeting to hit the ground running in preparation for the celebration.

Salihu stressed that members are expected to be punctual and serious considering the huge plans and tasks ahead for the coming event.

He said the Congress meeting will be on 5th April 2021 at 10am prompt and GMMC Assembly Hall will be the venue of the meeting.

A loyal Alumni, and a strong member of Tiddo Yo Daddo local organising committee, Comrade Ahmed Mohammed Marafa further explained that the centenary is no doubt going to bring the who is who that not only from Adamawa state but the country in its entirety.

He revealed that the late Lamido Adamawa, Aliyu Mustapha and the present Lamido Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha and the likes of former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, Former Governors of Adamawa state in persons of Murtala Nyako, Emir of Kaura Namoda of Zamfara State, Sanusi Mohammed were all proud products of the school.

He said former Governor Bala James Ngilari was at a time a Head Boy of the school when it was Government secondary school Yola and Lawrence Ngwale was his deputy.

Veteran Journalist Timawus Mathias, many Alumnis in and outside the shores of Nigeria are all expected to grace the occasion.
