Gov Alia to construct River Buruku to averts perennial floods as PDP members in Benue decamp to APC

Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has stated that construction of river Buruku saying work is already in progress

The Governor made the disclosure on Thursday at Buruku LGA during his continuation of ;Thank you visit to his supporters and critical stakeholders who overwhelmingly supported him to emerge victorious at the last general elections in the State.

He further reiterated due to his resilience Mr president therefore awarded the contract at whopping sum to ensure the problem is nip in the bud once and for all where the neighbourhood communities would heave sigh of relief.

Alia, ascribed to himself as son of the soil because his lineage home is there stressing that he was surprised with massive support explained to him during his election campaigns and subsequently emerged as 6th elected Governor of Benue State.

The occasioned also witnessed about 2,700 decampees from other political parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC during the ceremony.

Receiving the decampees, the Acting State Chairman of APC, Mr Benjamin Omakolo, noted that acceptability of governor Alia is growing higher and higher by the day due to the achievements posted in the past one year.

He stated that just yesterday at Sankera we received new members, Kwande and Jechira in their numbers to thrown their in order to identified with purposeful leadership.

According to him, Benue was almost in comatose due to failed administration but it was overturned by the Alia regime, described the Alia led APC as the authentic in Benue state and sued for understanding

Earlier , chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Barnabas Gemade, claded by Ambassador Steve Ugba, senator Joseph Akaagerger, Dr. Hinga Biem, General India Garba, Gemade noted that only a good thing will be praised rather that otherwise.

He said, in the past, some political leaders in the state were using youths in a negative way and the present regime has stop such act through engaging the youths positively.

According to Gemade, Alia is out to restore peace and order and is for the masses as is also servicing elders in the state.

Commissioner for Works and Housing, Mr Imoji Tiza, stated that governor Alia is the only one that has considered youths for appointment without recommendations from others.

He thanked governor Alia for passing the litmus test in governance in the past one year and assured of support.

Speaking, Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour and Union, Mr Ayough Igbondu, noted that the Alia Administation has reduced poverty in the state, and assured to mobilize support for him to succeed in office.

In her remarks, the women leader, Mrs Patience Ackapka Ikyo, said Buruku women are solidly behind the Alia administration, noting that she was not sacked as the General Manager of Benue Television.

He call on governor to increase appointment of women from two and above.

In his welcome address, commended governor Alia for ensuring security of lives and property as the menace of herdsmen hitherto to now were attacking, maiming and killing innocent people it has cease to exist under present dispensation in the council of the state.

He said, the award of Uga road by the Alia administration is not a mean feat for the people of Buruku local government.

He emphasized that anyone from Buruku who does not like Alia administration should proceed on exile, saying the people of the area will double their votes for Alia in 2027.

Other stakeholders has expressed the determination to do everything humanly possible to returned him for 2027 due to his diligence infrastructural development.
