A lecturer with the department of Information and Management Technology of the Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola,Malam Musa Jalo says Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state is preforming below expectations in meeting the immediate needs of the people’s of the state.
Jalo revealed that the ongoing rapid development of roads in some Parts of the state is nothing than a mere “misplaced of priorities to people’s needs”.
“For you to enjoy a good road, you have to have something in your tummy and you have to be healthy. You can’t be starving or on a sick bed and honour a new road.
“The point I want to make here is, there are basic important factors to be considered before dwelling to road constructions or rehabilitation.
“The welfare of your people should be paramount. Pay them their salaries and entitlements. Give special attention to the health sector. I was at the Adamawa Specialist Hospital last week. The hospital is at its comatose state. Dilapidated structures, no drugs, health workers just lolling around, and there was a heavy traffic of patients. With this condition, you’re working on roads, who are going to enjoy the roads? Dead people?
“With regards to the so called road construction, Bindow is only focusing on three local governments, which are Yola North, Yola South and Mubi South. What the citizens should put into consideration is if the government will take nearly two years to complete just three LGAs, what will happen to the 18 LGAs? Will he fix them in 2 years? No! So also if you analyze how he does, there’s a misplaces priority, example; how can you ignore Yolde pate road which is completely not motorable and dwell on roads that are manageable some without even a pothole? How can you ignore places like Sami-naka whose houses are submerged in flood whenever it rained, look at Lelewalji, and others. There about 1001 roads in Yola North and South that need more attention. So the government has a misplaced priority”. He Said
Musa who said that is only talking as an ordinary concern citizen of the state, him and many people voted the Governor in all confident and trust to all round work for the people of Adamawa state. According to him he has the feelings that Bindow is not touching every life in the state.
When asked whether is aware of the economy aches affecting the country, resulting to none payment of salaries by some Governors in the country and such Bindow is trying so well in the paying of salaries compare with his other counterparts. Also Bindow is set an Agenda to rehabilitate roads in the entire state
Jalo responded that: ” If I told he has an agenda on roads constructions the Governor should have prioritize the roads constructions in this three LGs. The roads is constructing are mostly manageable, let him go to places like Saminaka in Yola North where in a little pour down of rain the waters will submerge the area. As I Said sick people in hospital beds can not work in the roads is doing, people with empty stomach will not be happy walking on beautiful roads while hungry. I still maintain that most needed needs of the people is in the Health sector “.
He concluded that no matter what Bindow has no excuse to work because the voted him in confidence that is going to work for them. As there are still other states that are relatively doing well he may wish to take a lesson from them.
After much efforts to speak the press Secretary failed,an APC loyalist and an ardent supporter of this administration, Mallam Mohammed Mayas input that priorities or not priorities as regard to roads constructions is only the Governor that knows best the needs of every LG.
” During Bindow’s campaign he entered into social agreements to work for the people and he knows exactly what they want so no body can tell Bindow what to beside the people whose roads are being constructed are not complaining rather praising the Governor for doing an eight years projects of some past Governors in one year. Bindow is on track please don’t mind the wheelers ” He Said
He continue to say that: “People should be mindful of the fact that there is no money in Government, we country is experiencing bad economy and every thing that the Governor is doing there must be priority to effectively achieve the target agenda”.
He praises Governor Bindow for not allowing people to turn his government into a conduit pipe in order not to be syphoning public funds.
Mayas appreciate those constructively criticizing the government as it is helping the Governor to do it right.
” We welcome meaningful criticism what we don’t want is hatred and attacks, if you are saying the Governor is not paying salaries that will actually make him to pay the salaries,or you challenge the Governor of not doing well I think that will make him do well. He said
That’s what we want to be hearing.Criticism for development and not sycophantic stories for brown envelopes. The immediate need of the masses should be the priority of any government and mot otherwise.
we should learn to accept advice and factual comments,i don’t reside in Adamawa, but what i saw for my humble self in yola/mubi can actually give some credit to the government of Jibirila, not withstanding, the basic element of life is health, shelter, and food.If what people are saying is true that Gov.Bindow has not paid teachers and medical personnel of the state, please wake him up to look at this very paramount areas, The Prof.above give his opinion on what he fells should be,honestly Gov.Bindow has tried but we need more of it.salary is not something you overlook hence is the life wire of the the state.PRAY FOR BINDOW.
