Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill for a law to establish a Penal Code Law of the State to penalize crimes established under the law presented by House Majority Leader, Hon Hassan Mamman Barguma during Tuesday Plenary Session.
After considering the Importance of the two bills by the lawmakers,Speaker Mijinyawa directed the clerk of the House to prepare clean copies of the two bills to the Executive arm for Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindo’s ascent.
Lawmaker Barguma is also working on a bill to amend the Adamawa State Appointment of Management Law number ten of two thousand and seven to increase the tenure from three to six months as amended.
In a related development a bill for a law to repeal the Adamawa State Health Insurance Law number Seven of two thousand and eleven and to establish the Adamawa State Health Scheme Insurance Agency sponsored by Rufa’i Umar of Gombi Constituency.
After deliberation on the bill by the House Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa who presided over the sitting has referred it to House Committee on Health and Human Services for Scrutiny.
Meanwhile the House has also granted approval to State Executive arm to Source for over two hundred and twenty Million Naira from Zenith Bank PLC to Finance the State Government Counterpart contribution for the implementation of EU-UNICEF supported Rural water supply and sanitation program in two local government areas of the state.
The House approval followed a request letter sent to the House from the Executive arm and read on the floor of the House by the Speaker Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa during Tuesday plenary session.
After deliberation on the request Speaker Mijinyawa put the motion for the approval into voice vote and unanimously supported by House in which he directed the clerk to communicate to the Executive for further action.
Also during the Tuesday plenary session, the House has screened and confirmed Doctor John Ngamsa of Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, as Commissioner Nominee from Numan Local Government Area.
The confirmation of Doctor John Ngamsa followed a letter sent to the House by Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibirilla and presented on the floor of the House by the Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa.
