In a grand gesture of appreciation, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has honoured Super Falcons Coach Justine Madugu with a three-bedroom bungalow and a N50 million cash reward for steering Nigeria to a historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco 2025.

The ceremony, held at the Government House in Yola, saw an outpouring of praise for Madugu, a native of Numan Local Government Area.
Governor Fintiri lauded the coach’s patriotism, tactical brilliance, and leadership, crediting him for cementing Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football. “This victory is a testament to your dedication and a proud moment for Adamawa,” Fintiri declared.

Presenting the rewards, Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to sports development, spotlighting ongoing projects like modern stadiums across the state. He urged Madugu to inspire and mentor young athletes in Adamawa, fostering the next generation of sporting talent.
Visibly moved, Coach Madugu expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition. “This honour fuels my resolve to give back to my state and country,” he said, advocating for increased support for women in sports to build a lasting legacy.
The event, attended by state officials and sports enthusiasts, underscored Adamawa’s pride in Madugu’s achievement and its commitment to nurturing sporting excellence.
