Gov Fintiri commends NSCDC for security handling of endbadgovernance protests in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) received a commendation letter from His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, through Hon. Ahmed Lawan, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Peace and Security.

This commendation was in recognition of the NSCDC’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and security in the state, particularly in its handling of the recent ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest, which lasted 10 days.

The Adamawa State Command of the NSCDC has been instrumental in maintaining peace and order within the state. Over the years, the Command has demonstrated a high level of professionalism in its operations, working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

The recent ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest posed a significant challenge to security agencies across the country, with widespread demonstrations demanding good governance and accountability. Adamawa State was no exception, and the NSCDC played a pivotal role in managing the situation.

The ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest in Adamawa State lasted for 10 days, during which youths expressed their grievances through peaceful demonstrations. The protest, which had the potential to escalate into violence, was carefully monitored and managed by the security agents. The Command worked in close collaboration with other security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure that the protest remained peaceful.

In recognition of the NSCDC’s efforts, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, commended the Command for its dedication to duty and the display of professionalism in handling the ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest. The commendation was conveyed through Hon. Ahmed Lawan, SSA on Peace and Security, who delivered the letter to the Command.

The letter praised the NSCDC for its professional conduct during the protest, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.

Also acknowledged the Command’s effective collaboration with other security agencies, which was crucial in ensuring a coordinated response to the protest, he commend the Command for striking a balance between maintaining order and allowing citizens to express their views.

The Executive Governor appreciated the proactive measures taken by the NSCDC to prevent the protest from escalating into violence, thereby safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens.

In his response, Commandant Ibrahim Mainasara expressed his gratitude to His Excellency for recognizing the efforts of the Command. He assured that this commendation would significantly boost the morale of the officers and men, motivating them to continue their dedication and hard work in ensuring the safety and security of Adamawa State.

A statement by DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, the Command’s Public Relations Officer said the commendation from His Excellency, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the NSCDC Adamawa State Command.
