Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commissioner supervising ministry of Entrepreneurship and development, Mr. James Iliya received an award of excellence as “Hope of Arewa Youth”.
He enjoined Youths of Adamawa state to embrace entrepreneurship to be self-reliant and turn employers of labor to boost the state’s economy viability.
James who is the pioneer Commissioner of the state’s Ministry of Entrepreneurship made the call while receiving the award by National Youth Advocacy for Good Governance on Thursday in Yola.
He said that it’s his priority to see youth are gainfully employed and not to depend only on the government.
Iliya thanked the youth group for finding him worthy of the award and assured him to continue taking up his responsibility to see youth are fully empowered to fight poverty.
In his remarks, Dr. Dishi Khobe, Commissioner for Agriculture described Iliya as a complete gentleman with good character who is committed to youth development in the state and country at large.
According to him, the award is challenging for Iliya to do more despite all the difficulty as a gentleman.
Mr. Leader Leneke, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri charged celebrants to double efforts in the discharge of his responsibility and to help youth to succeed being the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr. Mujaheed Ameenu, National President youth group said that they found Iliya worthy for his contribution to Youth development in Adamawa and beyond.
Ameen who was represented by Sadiq Lamuwa, Director Programme said his contribution has lead to peace and development being enjoy in the state.
According to him, the award is also to encourage youth to be good citizens and for the next coming generation to follow suit.
