A super highway and a flyover bridge are some of the major contracts set to be constructed by Adamawa State Government in Yola and Jimeta, the state Capital.
Governor Ahamdu Umuru Finitiri has today Friday approved the construction of the 20.8kms way Rumde Killa to Army Barrack road Junction in Yola at the cost of N21.8bn.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who presided over the state executive council (SEC) meeting also approved construction of a flyover bridge at Mubi Roundabout in Jimeta the state capital at the cost of N9.2bn.
Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Geoffrey Kofulto disclosed this while briefing newsmen shortly after the Council meeting that was held in the Government House, Yola.
She said both the projects have been awarded to construction giant Triacta Nigeria Limited and with a timeframe of thirty and eighteen months respectively.
She noted that when completed it will reduce traffic congestion and increase the socioeconomic activities in the state.
Mrs Kofulto said the Council has approved construction of a warehouse in the Government House Yola to help avoid hoodlums getting access to vandalization of government property in the name of palliative.
According to the Information commissioner, the storage will have the capacity of 7800 metric tonnes of huge rice and similar grains and the construction of the warehouse has been awarded to Medugu Commercial and Construction company.
